Overview

KKR & Co is a global private equity firm and asset manager with offices in 22 cities and an AUM of >$550B as of 2023. KKR operates many different funds and investment strategies, such as Private Equity, Tech Growth, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Credit.

KKR is one of the oldest and most prominent private equity investors in the world and is often credited with popularizing the leveraged buyout as an investing strategy. KKR was founded in 1976 and led the famous leveraged buyout of RJR Nabisco in the late 80s.

In 2022, KKR announced the $2.1B raise of its first asset-based financing fund, with intentions to invest in mortgage and consumer loans.
